Team Venture Solar Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

On Sunday, October 15, our team joined thousands of New Yorkers in American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. We are proud and honored to have been a part of such an inspiring initiative, where people of the city united and walked together for a crucial cause. The purpose of this walk was to honor breast cancer survivors, as well as raise awareness about steps we can take to reduce the risk of getting breast cancer.

These walks, along with celebrating survivors and raising awareness, save lives by raising funds. American Cancer Society works to fund innovative breast cancer research, promotes education and risk reduction and provides comprehensive support to breast cancer patients.

American Cancer Society requests all our involvement:

The American Cancer Society depends on Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events to raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer. And Making Strides events can’t happen without people like you. Through your time, effort, and dedication, you’re shining a light on the issue of breast cancer. By walking in an event, raising funds, volunteering or forming a team, you’re helping the American Cancer Society find solutions through new treatments and support services. You’re making a difference in the lives of so many. And for that we are grateful.

We’ve had a good start. The American Cancer Society has played a critical role in many breast cancer breakthroughs including funding the drugs Tamoxifen and Herceptin. Money raised this year could go towards developing the next generation of lifesaving treatments. Which means you could be a part of the next big breast cancer breakthrough! Let’s all share our passion and walk together so that no one has to ever walk through a breast cancer diagnosis alone. Join an event now and help us save lives from breast cancer.

Apart from skin cancers, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women. In 2017, about 252,710 new cases of invasive and 63,410 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer are projected to be diagnosed. American Cancer society provides all sorts of information and relief to patients and their loved ones. Information such as risk and prevention, detection and diagnosis, treatment, surgery and living as a breast cancer survivor can be found on ACS website.

You can find an event near you or get involved in other ways. You can also make a donation.
